Last week the “Innovazione Tecnologia e Informatizzazione in Oncologia” (Innovation, Technology and Computerization in Oncology) convention took place at Camera dei Deputati in Rome, promoted by ONLUS National Culture Association “Giuseppe Dossetti: I valori – sviluppo e Tutela dei Diritti” .
The main event key words were: customization, accuracy, centered patients, integration, interaction and quality control in oncology process which is always a remarkable issue because of the neoplastic pathologies spreading.
The conference focused on the relevance of the right accuracy of technology used and of therapy chosen for the patient’s care in terms of money saving, time and patient’s health: saving money is necessary and essential to invest in technology and innovation.
More speakers underlined the importance to have the philosophy of centered patients. It is necessary to listen to them and take care of their response at cancer therapy in order to have the best therapy efficiency. Even for this reason, the tailored chemotherapic pharmacy was another issue of the 2-day convention.
All the participants at the conference shared the need to have an integrated system, where the whole patients information can be shared among every doctors and hospitals in order to have their careflow always available. The service quality is essential and the quality control becomes a necessary activity.
